My mom always reminded me how important the word of God is. She always encouraged me to stand on the Bible and memorize scripture, to hide His word in my heart. I'm so thankful for my mom. From the very beginning, she has been on her knees praying for her kids. It has definitely paid off.
GREG LONG (Avalon):
My mom has always led by example when it comes to reading the Bible daily. She says even if it's only a few verses, we should make it a habit to get the word into our lives every day.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. Until you’ve walked in a person’s shoes, don’t assume.
My mom has always told me that anything is possible, and nothing is too hard for God. I've always dreamed big thanks to her.
MICHAEL WATSON (Above the Golden State):
“Can’t hurry love, no you’ll just have to wait…” She’s given me plenty of advice for sure (orange juice in the morning, go to the bathroom and brush your teeth before bed), but the best advice is the way she’s loved me like Christ has, and shown interest in everything I do, whether it’s where I live, what I’m eating, what I’m listening to, or (too often) if I’ve met my future wife yet. :)
JANNA LONG (Avalon):
Mom always told me to humble myself before God or He would do it

Mother Knows Best: 16 Artists Share the Best Advice
Their Mothers Ever Gave Them
the best advice your mother ever gave you? It may not have seemed important
at time, but now you find it invaluable. It’s so vivid in your
mind you remember it like it was yesterday, even if it was years ago.
You’re not alone - some of today’s top musicians have nuggets
of wisdom their moms have passed onto them, too.
Well I’m going to brag on my mom and say that she is a woman of a lot of wisdom, so to narrow it down to one thing is pretty tough to say. But one scripture I remember her quoting a lot is James 5:16 that says… “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much,” which basically means to pray… a lot and with power! My mom is one of the greatest prayer warriors I know and I hope I can be like her some day!
My mother has always encouraged me to commit everything to prayer. I can't even count how many times I would happen to walk by her bedroom and see her kneeling by her bed. She would be praying for her son, and for our family. That's the thing about her, any advice she ever gives me is always backed up by her own actions.
My mom's best advice was when I was considering getting married way way tooooo young. She really made me think. My first proposal was when I was 17 years old, and instead of "becoming the enemy" and telling me no (which I think they would have if it came down to it), she said, "Sarah, we will try to give you the wedding of a lifetime, a true day of dream. Because if you marry that man this young, the rest of your life may very well be a nightmare." This made me think, and thank God I did not get married at 17! This is the best advice she ever gave me, and I am so grateful she spoke out!
She told me to believe in the dreams inside me…sounds cliché but she always backed up her words with actions by sacrificing time and energy to support me along the way.
JEREMY RICHARDSON (Avalon):
The best advice my mother ever gave me was: "Marry her!" - I did and
my life will never be the same...
TRICIA BROCK BAUMHARDT (Superchick):
My Mom would always say that my Dad didn’t have to give her big, expensive gifts all the time because he showed her in little ways every day. She would tell me to wait until I find a guy who would love me as much as Dad loves all his girls. And I did. =)
SHANE BOWERS (Julian Drive)
Not to depend on other people, but take initiative and do things yourself, with God’s guidance of course. That’s really helped me in all areas of my life. I think I’ve always been a “doer” and not a procrastinator. I owe that drive and determination to my mama.
The best advice my mother ever gave to me was to stay focused and never let anything or anyone make you give up on church.
My mom has been a constant source of encouragement and wisdom ever since I was a little girl, but I think the best advice she gave me came not from her words but from her life. My mother has the heart of a servant, and by watching her I have seen the love of Jesus displayed in such a gentle, humble, tangible way. She has so willingly served my dad, my brothers and me, our church and our community, and has done so seeking no appreciation or recognition. Her joy is to serve her Lord and those around her. I aspire to follow her example.
Some of the best advice that my Mother has given me is something inspired by the word of God; and that has been to Speak the Truth in Love. Sometimes it's not so easy to do, but in the end, it's always worth it.
