"...has high-energy, constant movement and incredible dance choreography."
For the first time, all of tobyMac's music videos are available on Moving
Pictures. It is an extreme collection of live and conceptual videos. This
DVD has high-energy, constant movement and incredible dance choreography.
The stage chemistry between Toby and his band is undeniably electric, to
say the least.
All of his concept music videos from the four studio albums including the hits "Irene," "Get This Party Started," "Gone," "Boomin," "Lose My Soul," and "Tonight" are packaged in this DVD. Select live videos from his best-selling live DVD Alive & Transported (2008) are also included.
If you have never had the opportunity to experience a tobyMac live concert, this is the DVD to own even if you already have Alive and Transported in your collection. (Alive and Transported was a live recording of the Portable Sounds Tour in Houston, TX, including covers of popular DC Talk songs "Jesus Freak" and "In the Light".)
Without a doubt, tobyMac is a creative entertainer and consummate performer. More importantly, he is a Christ-follower. tobyMac (Toby McKeehan) was one of the first Christian rappers. He was an original member of the Christian singing trio DC Talk until 2001. He is also a Grammy Award-winning recording artist with six #1 hit CHR singles including "Gone," "Made to Love" and "Lose My Soul" as well as producer and songwriter.
Two of the conceptual videos, “Showstopper” and “City on Our Knees,” were created by up-and-coming directors. They presented their unique approach to his lyrical and musical content without him appearing in the video. This reviewer’s favorites include: “Lose My Soul,” “Made To Love,” “Feelin’ So Fly,” and “Extreme Days.”
I would have liked to have seen a “behind-the-scenes” commentary with tobyMac and directors . . . a little extra segment for his fans included!
Toby has helped establish a camp, near Nashville, Tennessee, for young musicians who seek to improve their pop and rock skills. Unfortunately, this baby boomer doesn’t meet the age requirements for that adventure. But that doesn’t stop me from enjoying his musical styling and Holy Spirit inspired lyrics today. Suffice it to say, this collection of Moving Pictures is worth more than a thousand words! Thank you Tobymac for being faithful to your divine calling.Dale Lewis now mans the front desk at the EFCA (The Evangelical Free Church of America) National Office in Minneapolis, MN.
