Fans rocked it out Friday night when the Stay Close tour hit Lancaster, PA. Held in the Worship Center auditorium, the night opened with new rock/worship artist Devin Williams. It's always hard being a relatively unknown opener, but Devin engaged the crowd and sang his heart out. Cory Lamb followed, performing several interesting pop/rock songs, such as "Break the Cycle" and "It's A Good Day".
Dawn Michele, lead singer of Fireflight, took the stage in between bands to share from her heart about World Vision and child sponsorship, and you could tell it was a subject close to her heart. She's sponsored a child for four years now and seen the impact World Vision can have and challenged the audience to do the same in a non judgmental way.

After a short break, New Zealand band Rapture Ruckus joined us, and even though the band is only a three piece, they wowed the crowd with their enthusiasm and catchy electronic influenced hip-hop. Think Earthsuit meets Owl City meets KJ-52. Front man Brad Dring's stage presence and humor made for a fun set, and the crowd was soon singing along to their tunes "All Things New" and "Going Home". They're actually not a new band, having been a group for ten years, but they are new to the US and making lots of fans along the way.

By the time Fireflight's set began, the crowd was more than ready! Their opener "Stay Close" was a flavor of things to come. A mix of old and new, the band made sure to play favorites like "You Decide", "Unbreakable" and "For Those Who Wait". We were also treated to several new tracks off their album NOW, including the title track.
Dawn took the time to share the inspiration for the song "He Weeps", explaining how the band along with all of us hold questions about why bad things happen in life, especially to children. The song simply shares how God weeps along with us when tragedy hits.
Closing the night out with "Desperate", Fireflight made it clear they know how to put on a good show! We highly recommend this tour.
