A Passion Most Pure by
"...a delightful historical romance..."
Faith has only loved one man—but he is engaged to her sister.
Faith O’Connor has secretly loved Collin McGuire for years and has written about him in her journal ever since he dashingly saved her from a bully at school. Now a grown woman, her affections haven’t dimmed for the handsome rogue, even though her father has forbidden her and her sister from seeing the cocky young man from the other side of the tracks. When she spies Collin kissing her younger sister, Faith’s hopes for a future with him are finally dashed. But God is always close to her heart, and she prays for Him to free her from her aching pain.
When an innocent discussion in the park with Faith leads to a stolen kiss from Collin, her hopes take flight again. But her sister isn’t willing to let him go without a fight. Though Faith may love Collin as she’s never loved any other man, she knows her heart can only belong to a man who loves God as much as she. When she tells Collin this, he practically runs back to her sister’s waiting arms. Once again, Faith trusts God to heal her broken heart.
When war breaks out in Europe, the O’Connor men and Collin leave home to fight. Mrs. O’Connor takes her family home to Ireland to be with her mother and ailing grandmother. Faith is excited about her new job at an Irish newspaper. Her boss’s handsome looks and faith in God make her hope for a second chance at love. But is history doomed to repeat itself?
A Passion Most Pure is an emotional coaster ride about a charming Irish family living in Boston. The O’Connor’s are devout believers in God, but with six children, even faith doesn’t insure freedom from sibling rivalry. This wonderful, loving family is sure to steal your heart and make you smile in the process.
Faith makes a great heroine. She’s feisty, but thoughtful and caring, with an unwavering faith in God. Her sister Charity serves as the antagonist and makes a great one, always wanting to steal away her sister’s beaus with her beautiful looks. Collin is a hurting hero, whose relentless love for a woman challenges him to become a better man.
A Passion Most Pure is a delightful historical romance with knock-you-up-side-the-head twists and radical emotional turns that will have you laughing, crying, and begging for a sequel. Kudos to Julie Lessman for her fabulous debut novel.
