Pieces of A Real Heart by Sanctus Real
"Pieces of a Real Heart, has just that, heart, but lacks in the band’s rock sound, the driving force in previous albums. Yet don’t count them out."
The band Sanctus Real has been around for quite a while with solid releases raising them to become a staple in Christian music today. I’ve been listening to them ever since the band’s beginning and was excited to get my hands on the newest release. These guys have obvious talent and charisma with their music.
Sanctus Real has been known for years as rockers with an edgy sound---here it’s not the case. The track “Take Over Me” is the only glimmer of rock with this release. Yet wait. Even though Sanctus has shifted their sound on this album, one thing they haven’t lost is the quality and heart of their lyrics. Singer Matt Hammitt’s voice is very distinct and crisp as he sings with heart and emotion.
